'Super Smash Bros. 4' rumor: New content with Cloud Strife DLC

Super Smash Bros. 4 - Cloud Nintendo

While details about when and how the expansion will roll out for "Super Smash Bros. 4," it has already been announced by Nintendo that the company has plans of adding Cloud Strife as a playable character in the free-for-all fighting title. However, it seems that Nintendo is not stopping with only an additional character for an update but will include a number of other new content for "Super Smash Bros. 4" as well.

According to Venture Capital Post, the previous Nintendo Direct presentation that announced the addition of Cloud Strife to the fighter roster of "Super Smash Bros. 4" also indicated that the hero will come with his own array of skills and moves, including limit breaks and an Odin summon. As an extra item, there will also be an added costume for Cloud Strife taken from his appearance in "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children."

However, the website also pointed out that eagle-eyed observers might have stumbled on a clue, inadvertently discovering another yet-unannounced upcoming addition to the brawler title. The trailer footage of the screenshots for Cloud Strife shows him fighting in what appears to be the City of Midgar. The location is familiar to "Final Fantasy" fans as the location was one of the central cities in "Final Fantasy VII," in which Cloud Strife was featured as one of the main protagonists.

Aside from Cloud Strife gracing Nintendo's fighting title, the location, story, and characters for "Final Fantasy VII" will also make a comeback soon with a remake edition of the Square Enix masterpiece.

Meanwhile, although Nintendo still has to reveal concrete details about the Cloud Strife DLC, rumors say it may be coming out before the year ends. According to Parent Herald, Cloud Strife and other add-on items may be introduced to "Super Smash Bros. 4" next month, including his Amiibo figure.
