Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were spotted sharing a kiss backstage at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 19. The pair met backstage after their respective performances at the awards ceremony.

A video shows Taylor Swift walking alongside Gomez when she bumps into Bieber. Swift walks on but Gomez puts her arms around Bieber's neck and they both share a kiss on the cheek. Swift appears to put on a disgusted face and stick her tongue out as she looks on. Gomez is later pulled away by a member of her entourage.

Gomez kicked off the Billboard Music Awards show with her performance of "Come & Get It." She later introduced Taylor Swift, who performed "22" live for the first time on TV. Bieber performed "Take You" and also took the stage along Will.i.am. for his song '#thatPOWER."

Bieber won the award for Top Male Artist. He said: "I want to thank all my fans. I want to thank my whole family, thank you guys so much."

He also won the Milestone Award. But the crowd both cheered and booed for the teenage artist. In his acceptance speech, he said: "I'm 19 years old. I think I'm doing a pretty good job. And basically, from my heart, I just really want to say it should really be about the music. This is not a gimmick. I'm an artist and I should be taken seriously. And all this other bull should not be spoken of. I wanna thank my manager, Scooter Braun. I wanna thank my family at home. I wanna thank my mother, my father, I wanna thank Jesus Christ. Mom, I love you so much. Dad, I love you. Little brother and sister, I love you so much. Thank you guys so much. Fans, you're incredible."
