'Teen Wolf' season 6 spoilers: Plot to revolve around adult themes

Production for "Teen Wolf" season 6 has already begun, with the production schedule working around Dylan O'Brien's schedule for "The Maze Runner: Death Cure." According to a recent Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast (via Hypable), the main plot that they are shooting for in season 6 will revolve around some mature material.

"It's really dealing with scary, scary stuff, but not necessarily monster scary stuff," explained actor Linden Ashby, who plays Sheriff Stilinski. "Very kind of adult themes are being explored in season 6. It's complex. And I'm just sitting here with a big grin on my face because it's just going to be [expletive] good."

Unfortunately, Ashby did not elaborate further on what adult themes are being tackled. The show is no stranger to characters being killed off, to sexual themes and psychological horrors and it is possible that any of the three or all of them combined will be delved into deeper in season 6.

[Spoilers ahead]

One of the characters who are said to be getting killed off in season 6 is Kira (Arden Cho). The character has already completed her story arc, with the fox spirit/kitsune ritual now complete. However, her death will have more impact on the story moving forward and is expected to be executed not just because there is little left to do with her character.

Instead, her death is speculated to cause Scott (Tyler Posey) to go down a much darker, far more violent path and this may lead to dire consequences in the long run. Other characters may be killed off due to the actions Scott takes as he tries to live a life without Kira right by his side.

Rumors are also flying about that Scott may end up forming an entirely new pack, based on a statement made last year in the Hollywood Reporter. The report stated that Scott may eventually leave the show after forging a new team that would later become the focus of the show after season six.
