It has already been rumored that "Tekken 7" will eventually leave Japanese shores and will be released worldwide as console versions. However, until this year's Paris Games Week, there was no confirmation of the rumor.

But fans may now rejoice as it has been already established that the popular and long-running brawler title will make it to western shores.

According to Realty Today, Bandai Namco's game director Katsuhiro Harada announced at the recently concluded Paris Games Week that "Tekken 7" will be released on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. Although the title is already out in Japan, it is only available as an arcade title.

Meanwhile, although Harada did not provide any other details about the system, design, and gameplay of the title, "Tekken 7" for the console (at least for the PS4) promises to be one of the most stunning, visually pleasing and interactive titles from the franchise. It was reported that the upcoming "Tekken" iteration was being developed using Unreal Engine 4. This makes the title a VR-supported game.

Indeed, in a presentation at the Paris Games Week, Sony listed "Tekken 7" as one of the first titles that would be compatible with the PlayStation VR headset. According to news.com.au, PlayStation managing director Michael Ephraim said that with the PlayStation VR, gaming would never be the same. "This is 360 — everywhere you look you're in the game ... We think it's the biggest change in gaming we've ever seen," Ephraim was quoted as saying.

Aside from "Tekken 7," other titles that were announced to be making the leap to 3D and VR gaming are the next racing title for the PlayStation, "Gran Turismo Sport," as well as the upcoming survival horror game "Until Dawn."

While there is no announcement yet on when "Tekken 7" will finally make it to consoles, it is expected that the title will finally appear next year.
