The "That's So Raven" spin-off will recast the character of Eddie, one of Raven's (Raven Symone) best friends played in the original by Orlando Brown.

YouTuber Alonzo Lerone was tapped to play the role and announced the big news in social media. However, fans are at odds with the decision as it involves one of the main characters of the show.

As for Brown, he said that the change was made from a business standpoint that is deemed best for the "That's So Raven" spin-off. Although "everything is good" on his side, Brown said that this may not sit well with fans.

"I wish nothing but the best... I think it would disappoint many fans, but either way, it's all for the greater good," Brown said in a video shared by TMZ.

"She made a decision that she felt was better for her and that was great," the actor said of Symone, who is producing the "That's So Raven" spin-off.

He added that he cannot call her out for choosing what she thinks is right for the project. Lastly, he also sent some love to Lerone, who he described as a "good guy." When the project was first announced, Brown said that he should be part of the "That's So Raven" spin-off as he was one of the people that contributed to the success of the show. The recasting comes just days after Anneliese van der Pol was announced to reprise her role as Chelsea in the "That's So Raven" spin-off. Like her best friend Raven, she is also a single mother. The series will see Chelsea and her son, Levin, move in with Raven and her kids, Booker and Nia, who got her mother's ability to see visions of the future.

The "That's So Raven" spin-off will begin production in 2017. There is no word on the premiere date yet.
