Disney and Pixar seem to be on track for the release of the much-awaited "The Incredibles" sequel in 2018 and while production is proceeding as scheduled, fans of the superhero animated film is excited to learn who will be on board.

According to Game and Guide, actor Samuel L. Jackson has almost certainly confirmed that he will be part of the sequel. The actor provided the voice for the character Frozone, who was Mr. Incredible's best friend and sidekick in the first movie.

"Every time I run into Brad [Bird] he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on, so I have to believe that," Jackson said in an earlier interview.

There have been rumors that Frozone would be the next villain in the sequel, but there are also speculations that it could be Jack Jack, the youngest Incredible who displayed his strength and power at the end of first movie. It has been rumored that he will be an adolescent in the next movie and going through teenager rebellion, which will eventually lead to conflict within the superhero family.

In a recent interview with IGN, writer director Brad Bird refused to share too much about the sequel but he promised a big twist that will please the audience. However, he also teased the focus of the new movie and appealed for a bit of patience from the fans.

"The powers themselves are not that interesting, it's the people that are interesting and how they react to having those powers. While I agree with Spielberg's assessment that there are way too many superhero movies right now, I'm basically sticking with the approach that I had on the movie we did, which is that it's really about the characters than it is about bursting through walls or something like that," he concluded.

He added that his team is excited to take the film to new directions.
