Fans of "The Legend of Zelda" franchise would be ecstatic to know that a new compendium of the series' lore will be arriving next year. Named "The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia," the book will feature a ton of content from the franchise's long history.

The upcoming encyclopedia is the third and last book in the "Goddess Collection" trilogy of "Legend of Zelda" lore. The first book was called "Hyrule Historia" and was released in 2013. It included the series' concept art, insights from its developers, and a timeline of the series' events.

The second book, which was released earlier this year, is called "Legend of Zelda Arts & Artifacts." It featured a comprehensive collection of concept art throughout the history of the franchise.

"The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia" is a 320-page book that will expand on some of the topics touched upon by "Hyrule Historia," and contain detailed entries for characters, items, potions, languages, creatures, and many other elements found in the series. It will cover the entire franchise, from its first game released in 1986 to "Twilight Princess HD," which was released last year.

The book will be published by Dark Horse and will also include an exclusive interview with Eiji Aonuma, the producer of "The Legend of Zelda."

Earlier this year, "The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia" was published in Japanese. The English version will be released on April 24. Once launched, the book will retail for $39.99. Fans can also pre-order the book at Amazon and Barnes Noble.

Aside from "The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia," Nintendo will also be releasing a new book showcasing the artwork of the franchise' most recent and critically acclaimed game, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." No date of released has been officially announced for this book.

It is interesting to note Nintendo's methods in expanding the lore of its "Legend of Zelda" games with supplement reading materials that fans of the franchise will enjoy.
