Marvel has finally announced the release date of their newest television series, " The Punisher." Frank Castle will debut on Nov. 17. Marvel is in collaboration with Netflix just like with other superhero series like "Daredevil," "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist," "The Defenders," and "Jessica Jones." The series is scheduled to be released in November.

The vengeance driven character will be brought to life by Jon Bernthal who is mostly known for his performance in AMC's horror television series "The Walking Dead" as Shane Walsh.

The official trailer released by Netflix provided fragments of the series' plot with Frank Castle aka Punisher seeking revenge for the death of his family. The trailer also showed a lot of fatal gunshots, blood, and explosions.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bernthal said his character, the Punisher, is on the "mission to kill every single person who's responsible for his family's death, and killing them in the most brutal way possible." Bernthal made his Punisher debut in the series "Daredevil" and has appeared in 12 episodes.

Punisher already showed his bloodlust and vengefulness in "Daredevil," especially in the ninth episode of season 2. In the episode, Punisher wiped out other inmates using only his hands and some improvised weapons.

The actor told Deadline that having a family of his own allows him to relate to the pain of Frank Castle, minus the killings of course. He said, "I don't think that I would ever begin to be able to step into these shoes and take on this role if I wasn't a father and a husband myself."

So far, 13 episodes have been confirmed for season 1 and the shooting of the series took place in New York City. There is no further information given by Marvel or Netflix about the new characters to appear in the series. One thing is certain, fans are excited to what it in-store and witness the Punisher in action.
