'The Strain' season 2 spoilers: Eph and Nora see virus in action

Will the new virus finally work for Eph and Nora? Find out in the upcoming episode of "The Strain." Facebook/FX

Eph (Corey Stoll) and Nora (Mia Maestro) will get to see the new strain of virus in action in the upcoming episode of FX's horror drama series "The Strain."

In "The Silver Angel," TV Guide reports that the two will discover whether the virus that could kill the Strigoi while keeping their human hosts alive will work on their test subject. Elsewhere, Fet (Kevin Durand) will take charge of keeping Red Hook secured while Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) and Abraham (David Bradley) will head for Staten Island in search of Reggie Fitzwilliam (Roger Cross), Eldritch Palmer's (Jonathan Hyde) one-time bodyguard.

Last episode, Eph and Nora were disappointed to discover that the virus they were working on managed to kill not only the vampire strain, but also the host body. Later, Zach (Max Charles) tried to give them the slip to search for his mother, but Eph and the rest caught him just in time.

Meanwhile, Abraham was seen experimenting with a worm and some vampire goo to create a liquid that he dropped into his own eye. When Nora found him unconscious later on, he admitted to her that he was actually 94 years old. Consuming the worm prolonged his life, and he would only let himself die in the hands of the Master.

In New York, councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis) was declaring Staten Island "plague-free," letting the citizens see the vampires they had beheaded. Elsewhere, Vaun (Stephen McHattie) and Gus (Miguel Gomez) were preparing to kidnap Palmer. They ended up getting the short end of the stick as the elderly billionaire used traps to kill most of their numbers.

Eph finally established communication with the Master via the remaining vampire subject. He told the Master that he would kill every single vampire and work his way to him. Eph also said that he would take his own life and that of his son if it would prevent them from getting turned.

"The Strain" airs Sunday at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
