Episode 7 of ABC's "The Whispers" will reveal the true mission of Minx Lawrence's (Kylie Rogers) imaginary friend Drill, Venture Capital Post reports.

"Whatever It Takes" will see Wes Lawrence (Barry Sloane) discovering that Drill intends to destroy humanity and that it will do whatever it takes to succeed. The operative also finds that it can travel electrically, and it appears to communicate with children, but he is not sure for what reason.

According to ABC's sneek peak, Wes will also meet with the U.S. President to discuss what his team has discovered about a mysterious object. Lena (Kristen Connolly) will attempt to communicate with Drill through her daughter Minx in the new episode while Sean (Milo Ventimiglia) faces a possible prison sentence.

Last week provided some answers to queries regarding the mysterious Drill. Viewers now know that it is a form of energy. TV Fanatic says, however, that Drill is most likely alien.

Meanwhile, latest reports reveal that the show's second season will be cancelled. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Zack Erin explained that the network was "wrestling" with the fact that despite having a clear audience, "The Whispers" continued to suffer from poor ratings.

"Our live numbers are OK, but our three days later audience is tremendous. I think it was up 63 percent last week after three days. So people are watching the show. They're just choosing to watch it a day or two later. And some of that has to do with the fact that it's at 10 p.m. and it's a creepy show."

The producer also admitted that they were facing some contract issues as well because the network was making the renewal decision "a lot quicker than they normally would."

"We were supposed to be on in the spring, so the deals for everyone involved with the show are going to expire very shortly. So they don't have the luxury of letting it play out for the season then making a decision."

For now though, viewers can be assured that the season's entire 13 episodes will air and that it will be "a very satisfying run."

"We don't want anyone to lose faith because you are going to get a very satisfying season and an amazing conclusion to the season, no matter what. There's not going to be some kind of disappointment in the end."

"The Whispers" airs at 10 p.m. Mondays on ABC.
