UFC 194 fight news: Jose Aldo will not fight, Chael Sonnen's sources claim

Chael Sonnen has been known to take the limelight with his aggressive statements but his latest revelation could be carrying some truth to it.

Sonnen, who is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter and mixed martial arts (MMA) analyst, just recently made a statement on his "You're Welcome" podcast saying that his sources are not confident that Jose Aldo will be around for UFC 194, which will take place in December.

But the odd thing about it is that while his statements are up for scrutiny, he adds that he hopes they are not true and joins the long line of UFC fans who want to see Aldo mix it up with interim champion Conor McGregor.

With these latest talks, it seems that McGregor may have a point in saying before that he doesn't believe that Aldo will be on hand for UFC 194.

At that time, of course, many took the Irishman's statement as nothing more than part of his celebrated trash-talking habit, but Sonnen's claims are now somehow supporting McGregor's claims.

During a recent UFC 193 Q&A with UFC President Dana White, the statements of Sonnen were immediately shot down as expected.

"That's crazy. Aldo's going to show up, trust me. He won't miss this fight," says White.

The upcoming tiff is a much awaited showdown between the two who would have faced off back in July for UFC 189 had Aldo not withdrawn due to an injured, rib which he sustained at training. Chad Mendes took Aldo's spot and lost via total knockout (TKO) to McGregor.

The two have been known to despise each other, although it would not be surprising if Aldo shoots down the rumors and takes swipe at Sonnen for saying such.

McGregor, on the other hand, is expected to blabber as well especially if Aldo doesn't make a statement and deny the allegations made by Sonnen.

UFC 194 is barely a month away so it will be interesting see what will happen in the coming weeks. Will there be a pull-out or the usual trash-talking to heat things up?
