UFC fight news 2015: Vitor Belfort eyes rematch with Luke Rockhold

Could another rematch be among the cards for Vitor Belfort?

Well, it seems that the 38-year-old Belfort plans to visit another former adversary in Luke Rockhold, someone he has termed as being disrespectful.

"He's talking a lot, he's a talker. Disrespectful guy. Really good, talented, but I've got my eye on him," says Belfort during the post-fight press conference of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fight Night 77.

The two met back in 2013 with Belfort defeating Rockhold ironically also in the first round. But the fight was overshadowed with a bit of controversy — the testosterone-replacement therapy (TRT) issue that instigated a "fraud" rant on the side of Rockhold.

And perhaps that alone is reason for the two to go at it again, seeing that there is no love lost between the two rivals.

A possible rematch could be in the cards, although Rockhold has to take care of business first on his end. He is lined up to compete this coming December against Chris Weidman for the UFC middleweight title. Whatever happens after that could set the tide for the probable rematch.

A win by Rockhold provides the perfect opportunity to set up a rematch of 2013, with fireworks likely to erupt between the two fighters. But then again, even a loss by Rockhold would make sense considering the magnitude of their hate for each other.

For the meantime, Belfort is expected to be among the eager watchers for that tiff set for UFC 194. Rockhold is confident he can overcome Weidman and believes that he can do so in three rounds. But seeing that Weidman is 13–0 for his MMA career, the odds of him doing so could require a lot of work ahead.

So before we can expect at rematch of that celebrated 2013 showdown, Rockhold will need to attend to business first and then set his eyes on redeeming himself against Belfort.
