Today's game between the United States and Germany comes from the Olympic Stadium in Montreal and should see a packed stadium cheering on the best players in women's soccer. Neither team has been at their absolute best throughout the tournament until this point, however, just like all top teams, they both have the winning habit and through any hurdles they've had they've been able to win through. Now they are just a game away from the Final and neither will want to lose out today.
USA goalkeeper, Hope Solo, has already started the mind games with her German counterparts, reporting that she believes the German players will be tired coming into today's game.
Germany's quarter final with France will have zapped a lot of energy out of the players, with the game going all the way through to penalties before Germany managed to win through.
In that game Germany were not at their best, and some have said they were lucky to have taken the game through to extra time and penalties. They relied on a late equalizer to take the game through to extra time, and also needed France to miss a few great chances in extra time for the tie to move through to penalties.
However, what will go down in the history books is a Germany win, and once again they have found a way to avoid elimination and progress. But at what cost?
Solo has said, "They're going to either hit us with a wake-up call that they needed or they're going to be tired."
About the USA team Solo said, "We're peaking at the right time."
Both the USA and Germany have won the Women's World Cup twice before and whoever wins today's game will be massive favorites to win the tournament against the winners of Japan and England in the other semi final tomorrow.
The USA have not won the World Cup since 1999 though, and Germany missed out on the trophy four years ago as Japan won the competition in Germany. If they had won their home World Cup that would have made it three straight World Cup wins for Germany, but as it stands they have to be happy with two wins from the last three tournaments, and Japan instead are the reigning World champions.
Solo, however, is not being complacent in facing the Germans, and she has said, "Germany is a great team. They're tactically great. They're organized but we're right where we need to be and hopefully we're going to beat Germany and head into the final."
Meanwhile, Germany defender Annike Krahn has said, "The crowd will definitely be against us and cheer on USA loudly. But that motivates us even more. The American playing style is completely different to that of the French. We all know that we have to be present from the first minute. With USA, a strong opponent awaits us. We've had some really tough games already - it also showed us that we can compete against strong sides. It's definitely a positive thing."
These two teams have met three times in the Women's World Cup before, and on each occasion the team that won went on to win the competition. USA's wins were way back in 1991 and 1999, where as Germany gained a certain amount of revenge by winning in 2003 in the semi finals before going on to lift the trophy.
In the overall series record between these two nations, the United States are ahead by far; winning 19 compared to Germany's 4, while there have been 7 draws.
One Germany player that the United States will have to look out for though is Celia Sasic, who has already scored six goals in this tournament, and she will be looking to score today to become the first woman to score 7 or more goals in a Women's World Cup since 1991.
Today's game also pits against one another the team that has conceded the fewest goals - USA allowing just one goal in their five games so far - and the team that has scored the most goals - Germany have scored 20 in their five games.
