Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) is expected to play a bigger role in "Vikings" season 5.

Speculations claim that the eccentric boat builder and the late Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel) closest friend will return to Kattegat to fulfill the prophecy of becoming a Seer, due to the rumored appearance of the late Viking leader in his visions.

According to reports, Ragnar will be the one who will lead Floki back to their hometown. But there are no confirmed details yet from The History Channel if Fimmel will make a cameo in the next season of the historical drama.

Also, there is no information yet if Floki has plans to leave Ragnar's son Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) during their quest toward the Mediterranean to become Kattagat's new Seer.

Meanwhile, other speculations claim that Ragnar's other son Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) will avenge his mother Aslaug's (Alyssa Sutherland) death by killing Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick).

According to reports, the details posted on the IMDb page of "Vikings" season 5 reveal that Winnick will have limited episodes in the upcoming season. This could mean that Aslaug's son will manage to kill Lagertha as prophesized by The Seer (John Kavanagh) in season 4.

However, other reports claim that Lagertha's life will be spared in the upcoming season of "Vikings" based on the script cover posted by Winnick on her Instagram page.

On the other hand, Clive Standen revealed in an interview with TV Guide that his character Rollo will possibly return with a blast in "Vikings" season 5. "Nearly every season, [series creator] Michael Hirst has allowed me to reinvent this man, and Season 5 is no different," Standen stated. "I think when he comes back, all bets are off ... You'll see a very different Rollo."

The History Channel is expected to reveal the premiere date of "Vikings" season 5 soon.
