Xiaomi's Mi Note Pro is not the only device that the Chinese smartphone maker is intending to release in 2015. The third largest smartphone maker in the world is also reportedly planning to launch the successor of its Mi 4 smartphone, which is rumored to possess an edge-to-edge display, a feature that is also present on Samsung's Galaxy Edge.

In terms of model numbers, the upcoming smartphone will most likely be carrying the designation name Mi 5, and leaked pictures of the device also show that it will be sporting a bezel-less design, at least on the vertical side of the smartphone.

In terms of hardware specifications, the Mi 5 is said to house a Snapdragon 810 chipset that will be equipped with a 64-bit capable octa-core processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It is also possible that the Mi 5 would be armed with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset with a processor that will be manufactured on the Taipan architecture, which exceeds the performance of the blazing fast Krait processors due to its smaller lithographic process.

The aforementioned details are still rumors and the actual product could differ from all the speculations that are currently disseminating prior to its release.

The company's current flagship offering, the Mi Note Pro, features a Snapdragon 810 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM and a Quad HD display. Maintaining its integrity of not incorporating a microSD slot, the Mi Note Pro is void of an expandable slot but Xiaomi has upped its internal storage capacity to 64 GB.

Xiaomi's popularity is due to the company's aggressive pricing strategy, allowing the firm to garner a global market share of 5.2 percent due to this approach, trailing just behind Apple and Samsung.

Attached to the Mi Note Pro is a price tag of $532, while the company's lesser performing variant, the Mi Note, features a price tag of $371.
