75th Golden Globe Awards nominees

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed the list of the nominees for the upcoming Golden Globes 2018. The fantasy thriller movie "The Shape of Water" emerged on top as the movie with the most nominations.

The nominees for the 75th Golden Globe Awards for film and television are packed with the biggest names in Hollywood.

"The Shape of Water" film is included in the Best Drama category with "Call Me by Your Name," "Dunkirk," "The Post," and "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri." Director of the film Guillermo Del Toro is also up for Best Director - Motion Picture. The movie is up for a total of seven categories.

There have been several speculations that the drama film "The Post" will be part of the event and they were right. Stars of the film, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep are up for Best Actor and Best Actress categories. The Vanity Fair also released a list of their predictions and they almost got it all right.

For the Best Musical or Comedy film category, "The Disaster Artist," "Get Out," "The Greatest Showman," "I, Tonya," and "Lady Bird" are included.

Netflix has two cards in the Best Television Drama category, "The Crown" and "Stranger Things." The two series are up there with "Game of Thrones," "The Handmaid's Tale," and "This Is Us."

Fox Searchlight Pictures is top on the list of most number of nominations according to motion picture distributor. The company received 15 nominations. HBO ranked 1st in the Television Network with 12 nominations.

Renowned talk show host Oprah Winfrey will also receive the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award. Winfrey is chosen as the honoree for all of her contribution to the industry and people's lives.

People are also excited for, of course, the host of the event, Seth Meyers, and his opening monologue. The 75th Golden Globe Awards will take place on Jan. 7, 2018 in California.
