It looks like someone is about to say goodbye to Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Ever since season 5 started, the ABC series has been hinting that Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie (Henry Simmons) might be leaving the show.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Jed Whedon talked about the possibility of Mack's exit. "I think he's pretty fed up," he revealed.

However, Whedon assured that the entire "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 characters are "pretty close." He described the cast as liking "each other quite a bit," so it might be hard for Mack to leave his friends.

"One of the things that's fun for us this year is we really are just a family," Whedon added.

Whedon recalled the time when Daisy (Chloe Bennet) said at the end of the previous season that "we all go down together." Hence, this statement will be put to the test in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5.

To recall, Mack was first introduced in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2 as an unenthusiastic mechanic that turned into a shotgun-ax-wielding guy. With that, he quickly became a fan favorite. Fans are also fond of seeing him on screen as he has the best lines.

However, one particular line that he uttered during "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5's premiere episode was a complaint about all of the mess they have been going through as of late. He said that he was "done with it."

The previous season had been a hard one for Mack. After his great effort to move on from the loss of his daughter in the Framework, now being lost in outer space without any idea how to go home might mean that he has had enough.

Mack has been longing to have a normal life, but his love for his friends might still win.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 airs every Friday at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
