Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season 1 episode 3 will be airing tonight on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.

The official synopsis for the third episode titled "The Asset" is as follows: "When the brilliant scientist Dr. Franklin Hall is kidnapped, Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. agents must race against the clock to locate him. Skye is their only way in -- pushing the team to their limits when the entire plan turns upside-down."

ABC says, "Prepare for flight with an original safety video for The Bus and star Chloe Bennet stops by to talk about Brett's trust issues."

Last week's episode saw the team traveling to Peru to investigate an unknown object. As predicted, Samuel Jackson's Nick Fury made a cameo appearance towards the end of episode 2.

"You know I have the authority to downgrade your ass to a Winnebago," Nick Fury said to Phil Coulson.

Viewings for the second episode dropped 34 percent from the premiere episode. A record-breaking 12.1 million viewers tuned into watch the series premiere on September 24, with millions more catching up online afterwards.

The television series is created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa tancharoen, based on the Marvel Comics organization S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division).
