Based on the Polaris 10 GPU, AMD's newest Graphics card, the RX 480 has its benchmarks posted online before some official reviews are published.

According to WCCFTech, 3DMark Database has the data showing the Radeon RX 480's performance in the midst of the numerous modern GPUs being released today. This GPU is listed under the uncategorized Generic VGAs in the database, and as for scores it has achieved more than the minimum for VR capabilities, and about halfway to 4k-ready gaming PCs. It's also been said that this GPU score is for 8GB variant, but it's expected for the score to remain the same for both memory configurations.

While the Radeon RX 480 wasn't named on the site exactly as it is, looking at the test specs, it can be seen that the Core clock as well as the memory bus clock are the same as the specifications already released by AMD as well as the ones already leaked online, such as the one from Tech Power Up.

If paired with an Intel Core i7-4770, this GPU's score can put it way above the requirements of a VR-ready PC, according to Forbes. As such, under the DirectX 11, its performance is comparable to the Radeon 390 and GTX 970, and it might even perform better than these two in some situations. However, what sets it apart from the Radeon 390 is that its power-saving capabilities are twice as efficient at a lower price.

What this means to the gaming community is that VR gaming won't be as expensive as it was before, and that's what AMD was going for after it released its Polaris architecture. Regardless of whether it's for VR gaming or not, the RX 480 still makes a significant difference in lowering the financial requirements for high-end 1080p or even 1440p gaming, so a lot of gamers are certainly anticipating this GPU's release on June 29.
