Amiibo news: 'Skylanders' figures to be made available as individual items

Amiibo collectors can rejoice as the "Skylanders" figures will finally be sold on their own.

Previously, the only way that collectors could get a hold of these Amiibo figures was to purchase them along with the "Skylanders" starter packs for "SuperChargers."

That was not always an ideal option for a lot of collectors since the starter pack cost $75 at launch. The price of the starter pack has since dropped down to $40, according to Destructoid, but a lot of collectors are still understandably hesitant to pay that much, especially since most of them are just after the Amiibos.

The good news is that the "Skylanders" Amiibos will now be made available on their own, although some may still be wary of the price. As of now, the "Skylanders" Amiibos are currently available for $24.99 and they come with a vehicle as well.

Collectors who get the "Skylanders" Amiibos on their own will still be able to get Hammer Slam Bowser complete with his Clown Cruiser and also Turbo Charge Donkey Kong together with his Barrel Blaster.

The bad news is that the dark variants of Bowser and Donkey Kong will, in all likelihood, not be made available as individual purchases. Collectors who still want to acquire the dark versions of these Amiibos will have no other choice than to still get the starter packs.

In related news, some Amiibos are now currently available at discounted prices from Amazon.

According to Hardcore Gamer, "Animal Crossing's" Mable is currently available for $9, while Tom Nook can be purchased for $6.76.

In addition to the two, the "Animal Crossing" Amiibo 3-pack will also be available at a discount for Amazon Prime members. The three-pack which contains Cyrus, K.K., and Reese will be available for $24.

Folks who want to take advantage of these discounted Amiibos will want to act fast as the deals are not expected to last for long.
