It's official: "Andi Mack" is returning for a third season.

The comedy-drama's renewal was announced just days ahead of its midseason finale. TV Line reports the show's cast — lead star Peyton Elizabeth Lee and co-stars Joshua Rush, Lilan Bowden, Sofia Wylie and Asher Angel — will take a short break starting Feb. 23. The last episode of season 2A is titled "Cyrus' Bash-Mitzvah!" and it will explore major turning points for several characters.

"Andi Mack" is scheduled to return with the back half of season 2 in June, offering 12 more episodes for fans.

"A series about a girl discovering that her sister is really her mother was new territory for Disney Channel, but Terri's honest, authentic storytelling allowed our audience to connect deeply to these characters and their journeys of self-discovery," Disney Channels Worldwide president Gary Marsh said in a press statement. "What she has crafted stands as a high-water benchmark for kids and family storytelling around the world."

The cast found out about the renewal during a live guest appearance on "Good Morning America." Lee, Bowden, Wylie, Rush and Angel all sat down to discuss the coming-of-age series in New York City on Monday. The TV hosts, along with the audience's help, later announced that the show has been picked up for a third installment.

Starring Lee as the titular character, "Andi Mack" marked a special moment during its season 2 premiere in January. The episode saw Rush's 13-year-old Cyrus Goodman character come out to his friends after realizing he was gay — making it the first depiction of a coming-out story on Disney Channel. Filming for season 3 is slated to start soon in Salt Lake City but further details about the plot are still being kept under wraps.

"Andi Mack" season 3 is expected to premiere later this year on Disney Channel.
