In the slew of allegations made in Hollywood recently, a lot of celebrities have come forward to detail their unfortunate experiences in the entertainment business. The most recent example of which is British actor, Andrew Garfield, who claims to have been abused in a different way compared to those who have claimed that they have been sexually assaulted by figures of high power.

In a report by Refinery 29, Garfield has proven that power in Hollywood is not only being misappropriated through sexual assault and violence. Garfield stated that "I've been on the receiving end of abuses of power." As it turns out, Garfield revealed that he had been a victim of intimidation and scare tactics in the past by powerful people in Hollywood.

This was revealed at an interview during the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Governors Awards. There were even times that Garfield was threatened to receive a beating if he did not follow orders. Unlike many others, however, Garfield did not drop any names nor did he reveal specific details regarding the threats of violence that he had received.

Instead, Garfield opted mostly to avoid conflict whenever necessary, while standing firm with his decisions. According to Teen Vogue, Garfield gave a speech at the Awards ceremony, wherein he described the event as a separate one, compared to the rampant abuse of power that occurs in the entertainment business day in and day out. Garfield even alluded to those who have come forward, stating that the "healing" process should be attributed to them.

Garfield made it clear with Mic that he was never a victim of sexual abuse. In fact, Garfield even made it clear that he is in no way comparing his unfortunate experiences to the victims of Kevin Spacey, Louis C.K., or even Harvey Weinstein. Nevertheless, it seems that Garfield holds a very optimistic perspective in light of the recent unearthing of controversies, stating that it is possible for the abuse of power to come to a full stop when it is all said and done.
