Even with Android 6.0 Marshmallow close to being deployed to select Nexus smartphones and tabs, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop rollouts continue, with various companies making the software available to some of the devices that have been waiting for months for the firmware to drop.

China-based manufacturer Huawei is now rolling out the update to the Honor 6 Plus and the Ascend Mate 7, according to GSMArena. It looks like the tech firm has made the update available to owners of the latter across the globe, while India seems to be the first stop of the update for the former. The update is at 1.3 GB.

Meanwhile, Sony is now making Android 5.1.1 Lollipop available to Sony Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua. In the past weeks, the Japanese tech firm has been upgrading its offerings, both old and new, and the handsets are the last on its list. This update comes with a fix to the notorious Stagefright bug.

This marks Sony's completion of the  Android 5.1.1 Lollipop rollouts to Xperia devices hat it promised to update to the latest build of the Lollipop software. It remains to be seen what the company plans regarding the emergence of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Lastly, Samsung Galaxy S3 is getting bumped up to 5.1.1 as well. The device served as the company's flagship back in 2012, and at long last, users who still rock the 3-year-old handset can now enjoy it to its fullest with the sweet update on the way.

As usual, over the air updates mean that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is being sent out in phases, so it might not be popping up on the phones instantly. Nonetheless, users can always check its availability manually from the Settings of the devices.

Make sure to download the update over a Wi-Fi connection. Before installation, the handset should be juiced up to at least 50 percent to make the transition easy and smooth.
