Major devices are said to get the follow-up for Android 5.0 Lollipop in the month to come. Android 5.1 will bring tons of bug fixes to eliminate the issues its predecessor has brought along. Android Pit said that two of its sources confirmed the rollout of the new Android update by the end of February. The transition to the software update will allegedly be complete by summer, the site added. It also said that Nexus devices are in front of the pack set to get the update.

Apparently, Android 5.1 Lollipop will be here soon to get rid of the app termination bug as well as the problems relating to Wi-Fi connection and wireless connectivity by and large. It will also mark the return of the Silent Mode, which was reported to be absent in Android 5.0. Nuisance brought by issues on the audio and multimedia, like the "OK Google" voice-command mishaps, will also be addressed by the update.

Along with Android 5.1 are some few enhancements as well. There will be a significant improvement in terms of battery management and functionality. RAM organization will also be much better and some tweaks on notifications were also ostensibly made. Google is also stepping up the regular performance of devices that will run the update so users can expect some stability developments.

Android 5.0 Lollipop has not reached all major devices since its first rollout in November. Samsung has just finished giving it out to Galaxy S5 users in Samsung Poland, South Korea, Russia and Malaysia. French carrier SFR noted though that the Note flagship will get a taste of Lollipop this month.

On the other hand, users of the Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini are still waiting for the update, although it is worth noting that Motorola has been the quickest-moving firm to get its devices across the Lollipop field. However, some Moto G and Moto X, both original and revamped versions, haven't gotten the update even after the tech company launched the firmware for these already. Meanwhile, HTC promised last November that One M7 and M8 will have Lollipop 5.0 this month or the next. Lastly, Sony is starting with Xperia Z3 and Z2 for the rollout.
