Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to cover a wider area of scope for Android-run smartphones and the LG G3 and G4 devices are part of that.

Although there is no actual date of when to expect them, the LG G4 should be getting the update soon.

This comes with reports that LG will start rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its devices, starting with the LG G4 which is scheduled to get it starting next week. The rollout will reportedly begin in Poland, followed by other regions such as Europe, Asia and North America.

While that announcement should be good, the thing is there is no specific date on when the update will be out. With that said, the best thing to do right now is keep tabs with your device and check if the latest Android OS update is already ready for download.

Take note that the announcement covers only the LG G4, meaning it has yet to be revealed when the LG G3 will be getting the latest Android OS update.

Aside from the LG G4 and G3, the Korean-based company plans to rollout Android 6.0 to its other devices as well. Such include the V10, G Flex 2, and G2. A schedule on when to expect the update should be released by LG soon.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow promises to deliver new features such as app control and permissions, improvements to the battery life, fingerprint support, and mobile payments.

Other device models such as the Nexus line have already seen the new features of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, including the "Now on Tap" and a new Google Now version.

Other smartphone vendors like Sony, Motorola, and HTC are expected to follow the lead of LG soon, although it has yet to be known when they will be making the updates available.
