A batch of Samsung smartphones in various locations is getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow while U.S. carrier Verizon is pushing the software out to the LG V10.

Sprint has officially commenced the over-the-air Marshmallow rollout to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, a couple of weeks after the carrier released the update to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

The carrier also made sure to bring Android 6.0 Marshmallow to last-generation flagships of the South Korea-based tech company, including the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note 5.

In addition to the native features Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 5 will also get enhanced TouchWiz experience care of the update.

Sprint customers are not the only ones getting some Marshmallow love. Owners of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in India and France should by now also be receiving the update, which is 1.3GB in size.

Meanwhile, Verizon has started to bump up the software of the LG V10 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The update comes two weeks after LG itself rolled out the software to majority of the LG V10 units out there.

As always with over-the-air rollouts, users will have to give it one to two days before they receive a download prompt. Of course, it wouldn't hurt users to manually check the availability of the software in the Settings menu of their Samsung Galaxy Note S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5 or LG V10.

Before diving into the software download and installation process, users are advised to secure a stable Wi-Fi connection, clean up the memory and storage to give the software room and juice up the devices to full bars.

Thanks to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Samsung Galaxy Note S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5 and LG V10 will get to enjoy the new Doze mode, which puts the handsets into deep sleep.

During this state, the handsets conserve battery life and apps in the background are closed. There are also other battery-saving features like the Do Not Disturb mode and the Attentive Display feature.

There's also the new Google Now on Tap, which provides users easy access to information relevant to their interests or activities within the device, and a new permissions system within apps.
