The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update continues to gain steam. This time, Sprint has rolled out its Android M update for the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 5.

According to SamMobile, the major U.S. carrier has started rolling out the Android M update to the Galaxy Note 5, followed hours later by the Galaxy Note 4. The update seems to be a similar build for both devices as the Galaxy Note 5's patch weighs in at 1.3GB, while the Galaxy Note 4 Android M build is a little over 1.4 GB.

The industry follower noted that as with previous updates, the Android Marshmallow roll-out for both Galaxy Note devices will be a staggered one. This means that although Sprint has already officially confirmed the update, not all subscribers who are using the Galaxy Note flagships will be able to get the update on Day One. The industry observer even surmised that it can take up to two weeks for the Android Marshmallow update to be released to all Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5 users who are subscribed to Sprint.

But as with previous updates, Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5 owners can manually check if the Sprint version is already available on their devices via the Software Update tab on the Settings > About Phone options. Once the update has been downloaded and installed, the baseband version should read N910PVPU4DPC1.

According to MobiPicker, the Android M update for the Sprint versions of the Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5 will unlock the latest features and improvements of the current Android platform, and then some. Apparently, the new base build already incorporates the latest security patch rolled out by Google dated March 1. This means that once the update installs on the device, the Android version for the Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5 will be the most updated in terms of security levels.
