Making good on its promise that its company devices are the first ones to receive the Android 6.0 update outside of the Nexus lineup, LG continues to roll out the Android Marshmallow platform update.

This time, the company released the newest platform in its home country, South Korea.

According to a report by industry follower Phone Arena, the South Korean company has continued its campaign of updating its devices. Now, users of the LG G4 with model numbers LG-F500K, LG-F500L, and LG-F500S in South Korea will be receiving their OTA notifications to update their devices to the newest Android 6.0 platform.

The rollout is a continuation of LG's drive to be the first company outside of Google to offer the latest Android platform. Some competitors, which have recently released their flagships after Google rolled out the Marshmallow platform, opted to pre-install Android Lollipop on their handsets. An example of this is the new Motorola Droid Turbo 2, which comes with Android 5.1.1. The only handset that came pre-installed with Android 6.0 is HTC's One A9 flagship.

Meanwhile, GottaBeMobile mentioned that LG is quickly making this partnership with Google to the company's advantageous to them. Over the recent years, LG is not known to be one of the companies to quickly adapt and upgrade their devices to the latest Android platforms. However, with the quick turnaround for the Marshmallow update, users who are particularly fond of the latest in tech industry may find LG products, like the G4 and the recent addition, the V10, of some interest specially if they already carry the latest Android version.

The South Korea G4 update is not the first for LG. Previously, the company launched a Marshmallow update for the LG G4 in Poland. Since the country is not a major tech market in terms of international standards, GSM Arena concluded that LG set up the Poland run only as a test update, to iron out any issues with their Android 6.0 version.
