'Ant-Man' movie's new synopsis suggest plot changes and future plans

Since Edgar Wright passed the baton to Peyton Reed for the "Ant-Man" movie adaptation, changes are expected in the film's plot.

Edgar Wright reportedly left the director's chair due to "creative differences," and "Guardians of the Galaxy" director Peyton Reed took over. Now, a new synopsis for the upcoming film has been revealed.

The new synopsis reads:

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time Marvel Studios' Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world."

The latest synopsis of the film suggests that changes have been made in the film. First, the film promotes Scott Lang from a con man to a master thief. Although the original character in the comics say that he is an electronics expert, a new day job description will have a big part in the story-telling.

Emphasizing on the skill hints that being a thief has to do with him becoming a superhero. However, it could also be a marketing ploy in order to appeal to a greater audience.

Secondly, the film acknowledged "Ant-Man" as a founding member of the Avengers. There were some rumors that Ant-Man may make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Avengers film or it could be the other way around.

Recent news state that the cast and crew have started filming in San Francisco starring comedian Paul Rudd. Thus, it is expected that "Ant-Man" could end up as an action-comedy, which is the same formula Peyton Reed used in "Guardians of the Galaxy".

The "Ant-Man" premiere date is slated on July 17, 2015.
