Reports regarding Apple's alleged new iPad Air tablet — the Apple iPad Air 3 — are continually trying to speculate about the possible release of the new device this year. According to the reports, now that Apple has launched the majority of its new products, the release of the new iPad Air seems to be becoming more unlikely.

The more optimistic reports, however, are adamant that Apple would still be coming out with the new Air tablet sometime within the year.

The month of October has always been the month that Apple released its new tablets. The original iPad Air was launched in October back in 2013, while its successor, the iPad Air 2, was also launched on October in 2014. If Apple decides to continue the trend, then fans would likely be seeing the launch of the new iPad Air 3 later in the month as well.

Another factor that supports the claim is that Apple has already begun cutting down the price of the current generation iPad Air 2. The discounts have been seen by some fans as a clear indication that a brand new version is coming out very soon.

For the moment, there are still a couple of products that the company has not launched yet, which includes the 2016 MacBook Pro and the 2016 iMac computer. There is still, of course, a couple of months left in the year, which means that the new iPad Air 3 could be launched alongside any of the two aforementioned products before the year ends.

As for the iPad Air 3 itself, some reports have pegged the device to be coming in an even thinner and sleeker design than its predecessor. It is also expected to be sporting Apple's very own A9 chipset along with features such as Touch ID, an iOS 10 operating system, and a four speaker audio system.
