Hodiak (David Duchovny) will have to deal with the backlash created by his son's choice in the upcoming episode of NBC's period crime drama series "Aquarius."

In "Old Ego Is a Too Much Thing," TV Guide reports that the seasoned detective will try to do what the government is paying him to do, at the same time make sure Walt (Chris Sheffield) is safe. Meanwhile, Emma (Emma Dumont) will gear up to confront Sadie (Ambyr Childers), but Mary's (Abby Miller) predicament will stop an otherwise ugly catfight. She and her baby, apparently, have complications and they need to get checked the soonest time possible.

Last episode, Hodiak made an undercover deal with Ken (Brían F. O'Byrne) about his son's problem. The crook told him that if he stopped his investigation on the missing hooker Louise Mitchell (Danielle Bux), Ken would help him so Walt would not go to jail.

Walt wanted to go public with the classified papers he stole about the Cambodian bombings, but his father could not find a reporter willing to release them anonymously. Hodiak had no choice but to find someone who could do it for them, and that was where Ken came in. He would ensure Walt's immunity against the fallout of the exposé.

Hodiak agreed to burn Louise's contact information. The next day, the deal appeared to be bogus. Ken called him to say that his friend, Charles Halpern (Adam Lieberman), could not promise anything more than a negotiation. The detective now had two things weighing on his shoulders — his son's predicament and his defection of duties as a law enforcer.

Meanwhile, Shafe (Grey Damon) heard about what happened and confronted Hodiak. The latter was drowning himself in alcohol and he did not appreciate getting lectured by the younger man. The two ended up fighting and then Shafe walked away.

"Aquarius" airs Saturday at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
