Fans of the hit American television sitcom Arrested Development will be thrilled to find out that the show will go on through its fifth season this year.

According to Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos, the fifth season of Arrested Development is definitely going to happen. This confirmation from the streaming video service, which reportedly said that Netflix is "positive" that Arrested Development is going to be back for Season 5, has made headlines right after the said declaration.

Sarandos was reportedly quoted to say that although the schedule for the show's fifth season is yet to be actually arranged and timetabled, Arrested Development Season 5 is "just a matter of when".

The Netflix CCO explained that the greatest challenge the upcoming season may encounter is the scheduling. Sarandos deem this concern to be a bit tricky due to the difficulties involved in creating a timetable most convenient and suitable for everyone.

This concern is in connection with the "fair" amount of time spent together by the cast on screen. Sarandos aims to find a solution that will not only benefit the show, but also the cast. Despite these concerns, however, the confirmation from Sarandos definitely put an end to the doubts with respect to the continuation of the show.

Three days after Sarandos corroborated the speculations regarding Arrested Development Season 5, the show's star Will Arnett publicly announced that they have been officially shooting the next batch of episodes for the season.

While promoting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the Arrested Development actor provided a definite response regarding the show's continuation to its fifth season.

"The answer is yes," Arnett exclaimed.

"You know, the truth is, that the guy who's the big boss man at Netflix, he announced it. We don't know when, but it's going to happen," he added.

In another interview, Arnett reiterated the confirmation.

"Ted Sarandos and Netflix kind of let the cat out of the bag on that one. It's something we all want to do so we're excited," he said.
