This December, "Assassin's Creed Origins" is getting a big update. The latest update includes a new difficulty setting known as "Nightmare Mode." This brand new mode is recommended for the veterans of the "Assassin's Creed" franchise.

The update is meant to motivate the gaming experts who are up for a challenge, or for those who simply find the base game too simple for their tastes. As the name suggests, "Nightmare Mode" aims to amp up the game's difficulty. Moreover, Ubisoft already posted an announcement regarding the update on their official website.

One of the changes that "Nightmare Mode" brings to the table is more resilient enemies. Unlike the foes players face in the base game, those in "Nightmare Mode" will be stronger, not only being able to survive multiple blows, but also being able to dish out more damage as well.

To put it simply, the enemies will be stronger and harder to kill, but beyond that, not much has been said about the new level difficulty. Nightmare mode aside, "Assassin's Creed Origins" will be introducing the much-awaited enemy scaling to their game.

"By popular request, we will add the enemy scaling option. When this option is activated, the game automatically scale the lower level enemies to your level," the announcement on Ubisoft's official website stated.

Besides the brand-new difficulty mode and enemy scaling aside, the update is also going to add two new quests to the already impressive quest roster. The quests are titled "Horde Mode," and "Trial of the Gods."

In "Horde Mode" players will enter an arena to test out their mettle against some foes, while in "Trials of the Gods," the player will have a chance to face off three brand new gods. Both quests are battle oriented, with the former focusing more on combat against numbers and the latter focusing more on the boss-battle styled fight with three powerful enemies.

On a lighter note, the update will introduce the Civilization-themed items and a Final Fantasy-themed Chocobo horse.
