'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date news: Wit Studios remains mum
Fans of the hit anime series "Attack on Titan" have been clamoring for more information about the show's second season, but the producers are still mum about any details pertaining to it.
There are persistent rumors about an April 2015 release date for the "Attack on Titan" season 2, but Wit Studios has not confirmed nor denied the reports as of the moment. There are talks saying that the studio is halting the development of the show's new episodes because they are still waiting for the upcoming release of Volume 15 of the Hajime Isayama-written manga "Shingeki no Kyojin," from which the anime is solely based.
The only confirmed news as of now is the two new prequel episodes that will be released later this year.
The TV adaptation of the Japanese apocalyptic, dark fantasy series took the world by storm as soon as it hit the small screen back in 2013. Both the anime and the manga became a wide hit for fans who enjoy watching teen warriors fight to save Earth from man-eating monsters. The video game which was likewise adapted from the same story has also gained a huge following.
Just recently, the leaked rating from the Australian Classification Board made the rounds on various websites online saying that the soon-to-be released "Attack on Titan" 3DS game got a 15+ label because of its extremely violent plot. This does not come as a surprise, since both the TV and manga versions are known to contain violent graphics and storyline as well.
The alleged Volume 15 release will reportedly come with the first prequel episode titled "Attack on Titan: No Regrets Birth of Levi."
Kodasha Comics described the premise of the upcoming episode, saying:
This prequel to megahit 'Attack on Titan' answers the questions: How did Captain Levi of the Survey Corps go from street tough to humanity's strongest soldier? And how did Commander Erwin become a cold, calculating leader, ready to sacrifice anything to save the human race? The fires that forged this bond of loyalty and trust were intense indeed!"
The prequel episode as well as Volume 15 of the manga is said to be released on December 2015.
