Marvel Comics' "Avengers: Infinity War" has long released an official trailer for the upcoming blockbuster movie for May 2018. The trailer shows a slew of big names working for one movie, but at least one character might not be back for the culmination of Marvel's storyline.

While Captain America (Chris Evans) will be one of the main characters leading the way in their fight against Thanos (Josh Brolin) in the upcoming "Infinity Wars," his girlfriend Sharon Carter, a highly dangerous secret agent, might not be in the mix.

The news came in after actress Emily VanCamp said that fans should not expect Captain America's girlfriend, who is also an agent of the clandestine S.H.I.E.L.D unit.

VanCamp said that it is "hard to fit" Agent Carter in the "Infinity Wars" setting, which has some truth to it, as unlike the other characters with crazy superpowers, Agent Carter relies more on skill and brains. While that may awfully sound like Black Widow, Agent Carter does not have any superhuman abilities such as Black Widow's reflexes.

"She sort of fits into the Captain America movies, that's where her sort of story lies, but I can tell you it's going to be an epic two-parter," VanCamp said in a recent interview with Build Series, referring to "Infinity War" being a two-part movie, with the second one coming on 2019.

VanCamp's character first debuted in the second installment of "Captain America" movies, titled "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Sharon Carter was first introduced as an agent monitoring Captain America, who just awakened in the 21st century after falling unconscious in the events that transpired during World War II.

Carter later on became the second love interest of Captain America, with the first being her great-godmother, Peggy Carter. That said, fans may not see much of a romance between the two characters since "Avengers: Infinity War" is slated to have over 70 actors and actresses in the movie.

Led by Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk),Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Chris Pratt (Star Lord), and many more, the upcoming movie will be a massive culmination of Marvel's movies that spanned 10 years.
