An anonymous, 23-year-old New York-based photographer accuses Indian-American comedian and filmmaker Aziz Ansari of sexual assault following an incident in the actor's apartment.

The anonymous woman dove into the details in an interview with Babe. She said they first met at the 2017 Emmy Award after-party in Los Angeles. The woman said she approached Ansari after she saw a "flash" from the comedian's film camera. According to the woman, this encounter marked the start of Ansari's dating relationship with her.

The actor himself reaffirmed this in a statement he issued recently after the allegations.

"In September of last year, I met a woman at a party. We exchanged numbers. We texted back and forth and eventually went on a date. We went out to dinner, and afterwards we ended up engaging in sexual activity, which by all indications was completely consensual," Ansari wrote in his statement.

However, this does not coincide with the woman's allegations, who said in her interview that Ansari's hand was on her breast. She also recalled that she kept on getting up and moving in order to avoid Ansari, whom she claimed repeatedly stuck his fingers down her throat.

According to Ansari, he received a text from the woman after that night, telling him that he wrongly continued his sexual advances despite the woman's vivid displeasure. The actor said that this text made him "surprised and concerned." The actor said that he did not realize the woman was having discomfort during that night.

"It was true that everything did seem okay to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned," wrote Ansari.

Asked on why she only spoke now, the New York-based photographer said that she was "spurred" after Ansari won "Best Actor" in the recent Golden Globe Awards for his hit Netflix series, "Master of None."
