This week on "Bachelor in Paradise," Joe and Samantha's relationship took an unexpected turn when Samantha broke things off with him on his birthday. In his desperation to win her back, he threatened to reveal their scheme before the show's premiere, but it looks like Samantha was really over him this time around.

Determined to get Samantha back, Joe decided to threaten her, saying that unless they get back together, he'd show the text messages they exchanged before the show. Last week, it was revealed that the two have been communicating before the reality show's premiere, and Samantha allegedly instructed him to do whatever it takes to stay at the Playa Escondida Resort until she arrives. Joe told Samantha that if the texts were revealed, it wouldn't look good for her. But Samantha denied that she did anything wrong and went right back to ignoring him.

Adding to the drama was Justin's arrival, who immediately had his eye on Samantha. Joe told Justin not to ask her out, but Justin ignored him and asked Samantha out anyway.

Deciding to end things once and for all, Samantha set things straight with Joe, telling him that she did not feel like they were meant to be together. To the camera, Joe said that he must have aimed too high when he decided to pursue her, adding that a girl like her doesn't just fall for a guy like him.

So what's next for the remaining contestants in "Bachelor in Paradise"?

According to reality show guru Reality Steve, next week, the ladies will be asking the gentlemen out on dates. Four women will be entering the show – Chelsie Webster and Cassandra Ferguson from Juan Pablo's season, Jaclyn Schwartz from Ben's season, and McKenzie Deonigi from Chris' season.

Chelsea will reportedly take Nick snorkeling, while McKenzie will ask Justin out. Cassandra will also take Justin out for horseback riding. Nick, using a date card given to him, will take Samantha out to dinner.

Reality Steve adds that by the end of the episode, 10 people will be eliminated, and the following week will see five remaining couples at the resort.

"Bachelor in Paradise" airs Sundays and Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
