The BAFTAs 2016 takes place on Sunday night and a host of Hollywood and worldwide actors and actresses will be in attendance in London to find out who wins this year's top awards. The BAFTAs ceremony has a scheduled start time of 7 p.m. GMT (2 p.m. ET) with the ceremony airing from 9 p.m. GMT (4 p.m. ET), and can be watched on TV on the BBC network, or online through live stream via the link below.

In total there will be 24 awards handed out during the evening's ceremony, and all eyes will be on who claims the Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress awards among others.

Up for the Best Film award this year are five movies, including The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Carol, The Revenant and Spotlight. Spotlight is the favorite to take the award, but as we know, it's not always the favorite heading into the awards show that ends up taking the big prize.

For Best Actor, Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Matt Damon (The Martian), Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs) Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl) have all received nominations, and it should be interesting to see who takes the BAFTA in this category.

Up for the Best Actress BAFTA this year are Cate Blanchett (Carol), Brie Larson (Room), Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) Maggie Smith (The Lady in the Van), Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl).

The other major categories movie fans may be interested also are Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress, and each category this year has been filled with some top talent.

For the Best Supporting Actor award, Christian Bale (The Big Short), Benicio del Toro (Sicario), Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation), Mark Ruffalo (Spotlight), Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies) have all been included.

Where as for the Best Support Actress award Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Rooney Mara (Carol), Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Julie Walters (Brooklyn), Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs) have all been nominated.

Among those touted to be favorites to pick up awards tonight, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet and Star Wars John Boyega, have all been rumored to be top picks. Although again, there are always a few surprises among the awards, and it will be interesting to see if the pundits' favorites come out on top.
