Ten months after his term ended, former U.S. President Barack Obama is far from taking a rest, although it seems like the iconic world leader is having so much fun away from the main spotlight.

The end of his presidency did not mean the end of the road for Obama, as he continues to fight for the same causes he fought for while still in the Oval Office.

On Nov. 11, he honored the U.S veterans on their special day through the Obama Foundation, just as he always fondly did in his two terms. "We humbly acknowledge that we can never truly serve our veterans in quite the same way they served us. But we can try," he said in a post on the foundation's website.

Earlier in November, Obama, through his Twitter account, encouraged citizens to sign up for 2018 health coverage. He has always been very passionate about healthcare, and Obamacare is one of the most controversial issues during his presidency.

However, when the former president is not promoting his causes, he is busy living a normal life. On Nov. 8, he even did something hated by many Americans — he reported for jury duty.

Obama went down to Room 1700 of Chicago's Circuit Court of Cook County with a red jury sticker on his jacket and, according to Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans, "He was willing to go through everything anybody else had to go through."

The affair was far from the normal somber mood in the courthouse. People were snapping photos here and there, while the other jury candidates brought books for Obama to sign.

It was quite odd seeing a former world leader doing something so mundane, although he is not the first president to find himself in this situation. George W. Bush also reported for jury duty in 2015, but he was not seated.

Obama also did not get a seat in the jury, but he served as a great reminder for everyone else. "If the former president of the United States takes his time to come, anybody ought to be willing to come," said Evans.
