'Bates Motel' Season 5 Spoilers, Premiere Date: a 'wild ride' is coming when show returns in spring 2017

Is Norma Bates still alive? How will Norman evolve into the character shown in the classic movie "Psycho"? What will happen to Dylan and Emma now that they have flown off to Seattle?

These are just some of the many burning questions that fans of "Bates Motel" want answered ever since the fourth season of the hit American horror TV show ended last May. According to Enstarz.com, avid viewers of the series will have to wait for spring next year to get some answers to these questions.

Nevertheless, showrunners Kerry Ehrin and Carlton Cuse gave clues on what to expect for the show's fifth and final season, which they said will leave fans at the edge of their seats.

"We are really excited about it, and it is going to be a wild ride," Ehrin said in an interview with Yahoo!.

Cuse meanwhile said that there's only one thing that can be expected when "Bates Motel" returns next year: the unexpected.

"I think if we do our job right, there will definitely be stuff in Season 5 that you will not see coming," he said.

Ehrin further said that the writers are working hard to ensure that their loyal viewers will get a satisfying end to the Bate mother and son's story. The showrunner admitted that "Bates Motel" Season 5 has become more complicated due to the psychological emotions that will have to be taken into account, particularly in the story of Norman.

"I knew it would be tough. This show, I have to say, in my experience, has been a really difficult show to write because it's two characters essentially that everything in this story has to filter through," Ehrin said.

"And at the same time, you're telling a story of people who are all psychologically bent, so no one means anything that's coming out of their mouth. It's a very complicated equation in general," she added.
