More plot news for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was recently served up, ultimately shutting down persisting rumors regarding the possible comeback of two Superman villains in the highly anticipated film.

First up, fans won't see Doomsday wreaking havoc in the super-charged DC superhero flick as claimed by previous reports. This is according to Sean Ray, a 3D artist in the visual effects studio Moving Picture Company, which lent a hand in the making of the movie.

Ray revealed via his Instagram account, which Tech Times said is now deactivated, that the monstrous villain will not appear in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" after being asked if he made a 3D rendering of the character.

On the other hand, there is also a bit of confusion about what will be the role of General Zod in the movie. For the uninitiated, the criminal military leader was defeated by Superman at the end of "Man of Steel" but somehow, he still appears in the trailer for the new film.

Thankfully, Michael Shannon, who plays the supervillain, clarified what he will be up to in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and he assured that what his character will do in the movie does not involve being brought back to dead.

In an interview with Cinema Blend, the actor revealed that although he will reprise his role in the movie, he will be in the same condition Superman left him – deader than dead. But he dishes that even then, he had lines to deliver.

"But not a whole lot! I mean, I am dead. I'm just like a ghost," Shannon quipped."It's kind of like Russell Crowe in the first one, Jor-El. For some reason, these Kryptonian spirits, they linger. Even once you crack my neck, you can't shut me up," he continued.

That being said, Lex Luthor is the only villain that, for now, fans can expect to see in "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" when it flies to the silver screen on March 25, 2016.
