There's no denying that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is a movie that both DC Comics and Marvel Comics fans are waiting for. In the superhero world, fans just want to see how stories from the comics play out on the big screen, particularly how the action sequences are done. Regardless if the movies are made by different studio houses, the anticipation is still there. 

However, what's more of an issue is the abundance of superheroes nowadays. There's a movie lineup from both Warner Bros. and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans can also expect some from Sony and 20th Century Fox. Hence, a superhero fatigue might happen soon. 

Warner Bros. chairman-CEO Kevin Tsujihara took the chance to address this possible issue at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference last March 4. There, Tsujihara said that this fatigue won't happen and instead, there will still be a continuous appetite for superhero movies. 

"The key thing is that the movies and the television shows and the games, everything look very different ... you have to be able to take advantage of the diversity of these characters," said Tsujihara as quoted by Variety.

Many people seem to disagree. As Variety pointed out, the Oscar Best Picture winner "Birdman" was actually a satire of superhero films. Moreover, during the Oscar awards night, the superhero genre was the target of jokes, showing that some people find the abundance of superhero movies ridiculous. Nonetheless, Warner Bros. remains firm and steadfast on their current lineup, with "Dawn of Justice" and "Suicide Squad" being the most anticipated movies from the studio. 

Also, Tsujihara pointed out that DC and Marvel superhero characters are very different from each other.

"The worlds of DC are very different. They're steeped in realism, and they're a little bit edgier than Marvel's movies," he explained.

He added, "The big franchises are becoming more and more valuable. You don't have to explain to the consumer what a 'Batman v Superman' is." 

In the latter part of the interview, Tsujihara also mentioned that Amazon and Netflix are becoming players in the movie industry, too. But when it comes to the superhero genre, he explains that the big screen still plays a big role in these kinds of movies. So yes, there is still a big appetite for superhero movies at the theaters.
