A rumor has surfaced a few months back that director Zack Snyder's son, Eli, is playing Robin in a flashback sequence in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." However, in a recent interview with Yahoo!, the director has gone on the record to deny Eli's involvement as Robin. 

"There's a rumor that my son is playing Robin. It's not true. Now there are all these images of him that people have made where he's dressed like Robin. It's fun to hear and see them," the director explained. 

Snyder also explained that he didn't really mind all of the rumors spreading. He stated in the interview that there are points where some people might touch on something that is true by accident but in the end, he stated "It's fun for everyone to speculate and take shots and think of things and try to sell it. There's an industry in selling your guess." 

However, as pointed out in a report from Screen Crush, Snyder did not outright deny Robin being in the film, just that Eli wouldn't be playing him. After all, the first official trailer showcased a Robin costume encased in the Batcave with the Joker's (Jared Leto) vandalism all over it, hinting that Batman's sidekick died in the latter's hands.

This might be shown via a flashback sequence. It is widely believed that Robin's death may have been the reason why Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) had given up being the Batman and it isn't until Superman (Henry Cavill) arrives that he suits back up. 

Eli Snyder might still be in the film; however, it might be a very minor cameo role. Eli has consistently played minor roles in all of his father's films, including a young Leonidas in "300" and a young Rorschach in "Watchmen."
