Battlefield 4 Dragon's Teeth DLC release date: New weapons in leaked images; trailer for DLC just days away [VIDEO]

Images have surfaced on the web of new weapons to be added to Battlefield 4 through the Dragon's Teeth DLC.

These are the Desert Eagle handgun, the Unica 6 Magnum handgun, the SIG MPX submachine gun, the SRSS Bulldog 762 assault rifle, and the McMillan CS5 sniper rifle.

The similarity across the weapons is their suitability for close-range combat.

The first two would really test the gamer's shooting skills as they are powerful but don't carry much ammunition. The sniper rifle will make it harder for the enemy to spot your position.

There is also a Modular Advanced Armed Robotic System (MAARS), a small tank-like vehicle that fire grenades and use machine guns.

Symthic forum and Reddit users have been discussing the new weapons, which were spotted for the Battlefield 4 Dragon's Teeth DLC after a good root around in files that were recently added to the PC version.

Symthic forum user ElementofProgress said the Ballistic Shield was definitely in the files although its status was more "vague" because it seems to be scattered around XP4 and XP3 folders. The user said the shield was also in the weapons category and not the gadgets, implying that it "will take the primary weapon slot".

"Looks like for weapons we will be seeing lots of hand guns," they said.

Battlefield 4: Dragon's Teeth is due to release in the summer and adds four new maps - Urban Garden, Marketplace, Propaganda and Waterfront - for Domination and Team Deathmatch.

EA tweeted a few days ago that we can expect the trailer for the expansion this week.  Fans are looking to see if the trailer will shed more light on the new "Chainlink" game mode that they are still waiting to hear the details of.

When exactly in the summer EA will release the game isn't certain but if they follow the release pattern with the Naval Strike expansion pack, which came out a month after the trailer, Dragon's Teeth could be out early June.
