BET's Celebration of Gospel 2014: Performers include Yolanda Adams, Tamela Mann, Tye Tribbett and more
BET's 14th Annual "Celebration of Gospel" will air Sunday, April 6th at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Sunday, April 13th at 9 p.m. BST/10 p.m. CAT on BET's international network in the UK and Africa.
The star-studded event features the very best in gospel and R&B in a showcase of both traditional and contemporary gospel musical performances.
Taped at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles, this year's show was hosted by Academy Award-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "The Karate Kid") and presented an all-star lineup. Gospel superstars Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker, Tamela Mann, Tye Tribbett, Donnie McClurkin, and many more brought down the house with unforgettable gospel sets, and R&B singers Chante Moore, India.Arie, Charlie Wilson, and other artists showed audiences their spiritual side in amazing gospel tributes.
The "Celebration of Gospel" also features superb collaborations such as soul singer Kem teaming with BET's "Sunday Best" winner LeAndria Johnson and O'Jays crooner Eddie Levert, and gospel legends The Rance Allen Group sharing the stage with '90s R&B group SWV.
The spectacular event was highlighted by a tribute to gospel music pioneer Richard Smallwood-- founder of The Richard Smallwood Singers and member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. With both domestic and international audiences, BET's "Celebration of Gospel" will reach more than 13 million households in over 50 countries.
