"Better Call Saul," the popular prequel and spin-off series of "Breaking Bad," is preparing to premiere its second season and Vince Gilligan, creator of both series, has confirmed that the anti-hero Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, may appear on the prequel series but not until after the upcoming second season. 

"It would be great to see Walter White on 'Better Caul Saul,'" Vince stated in an interview with NY Daily News. "It would be a shame if the show had its run — hopefully a very long run — and he never appeared." 

Gilligan continued to explain that the characters who will appear in "Better Call Saul" will come in when it feels "organic and most fitting to the story," which ensures that there won't be any forced cameos just for the sake of having them or to satisfy nostalgic needs. Having Walter White appear on the show is no longer a question of "if" but a question of "when." 

The series creator also explained that the schedules of the different actors need to be considered as well. Cranston is currently rumored for a role in the upcoming "Star Trek Beyond" film; while Aaron Paul, who played Walter White's partner Jesse Pinkman, is working on a new animated series titled "BoJack Horseman." 

According to a report from Cinema Blend, Walter White might not even appear in "Better Call Saul" as the popular meth dealer he had become in "Breaking Bad." This is because the spin-off, which focuses on lawyer Saul Goodman played by Bob Odenkirk, is a prequel. Walter White may come in during his pre-meth dealing days. 

Cranston may not be coming back as Walter White in season 2 but the report states that the actor is in talks to direct an episode of "Better Call Saul." 

"Better Call Saul" season 2 is currently slated for a 2016 premiere.
