The second season of HBO's miniseries "Big Little Lies" is happening, and fans are waiting for its release date announcement. The speculations about the possibility of the series being cancelled had been quashed. The first season was impressive, according to online ratings.

The show received a 92% score rating from Rotten Tomatoes and 8.6 out of 10 score from IMDb. "Big Littles Lies" created by renowned television writer David Kelley is based on the novel "Big Little Lies" written by Liane Moriarty. Season one ended with the death of Perry (Alexander Skarsgard) after Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz) pushed him down the stairs. In the last scene of the season's finale, Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Renata (Laura Dern), and Bonnie were having fun in the beach with their children while a detective monitors them from afar with binoculars.

There are still no updates on what will transpire in season 2, and if there would be new characters to join the cast. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon did not reveal any spoilers for season and made a statement that it is all up to Moriarty. "Honestly, it's totally in Liane Moriarty's court. The ball is definitely in her court because these characters were born of her mind and her imagination," she said.

Appearing on "The Ellen Show," Kidman expressed his happiness about the show's success. Kidman said, "It was huge success. That's when women choose to combine their power, they can get things done."

"Big Little Lies" had won several Primetime Emmy Awards, including "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie (Kidman)," "Outstanding Limited Series," "Outstanding Music Supervision," and more.
