Two of the biggest intelligence agencies of the U.S. government will be at odds with each other in the next episode of "Blindspot."

Based on the synopsis for the episode titled "Split the Law," the FBI and the CIA will try to race against each other to capture a hostage taker with a dark crime history. Will both government agencies manage to capture the criminal?

Meanwhile, the episode will also center on the growing distrust felt by CIA's deputy director Thomas Carter (Michael Gaston) toward Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander). This will allegedly affect FBI assistant director Bethany Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), since she completely supports the mysterious tattooed woman who has no idea of her own identity.

"Blindspot" is currently one of the highest-rating series that debuted this season. Its consistent ratings climb per episode has made it the first new scripted series to be ordered a full-season order for this fall.

Series creator Martin Gero was not surprised when NBC ordered nine more episodes to make the initial 13-episode order become a full 22-episode season. According to the "Blindspot" creator, that is the result that they wanted to achieve when they started making the crime action thriller.

"It was super-arrogant of us, but we designed the first season to be 22 [episodes]," Gero stated during "Blindspot's" 2015 New York Comic Con panel, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter. He also shared that instead of wrapping up the plot toward the end of the initial 13-episode order, viewers will find out that "there will be a big cliffhanger at the end of [episode] 10."

Gero also mentioned that since the fans managed to crack the encrypted messages in the first 10 episode titles of the series by episode 2, they will be coming with new codes for the next set of episodes.

"Blindspot" episode 5 will air on Monday, Oct. 19, on NBC.
