In the previous season of "Bones," fans get to see two main characters, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel), ditch their old lives and plan to start a new one, with a baby on the way.

Now, fans are wondering what the future will hold for these two heroes, considering they have left their crime-solving jobs.

Luckily, showrunner Michael Peterson recently talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the upcoming season and he also gave away a bit of juicy spoilers for fans to feast on.

First up, Peterson shared that at the end of the second episode of season 11, both Booth and Brennan will be back to their old jobs.

The showrunner went on to reveal that solving crimes is part of their nature and that "they can't escape who they are and their fate is really to do this job."

After all, solving mysteries is what brought the two together since day one and running from it won't be that easy.

It was already previously reported that season 11 will start with a time jump, skipping six months, as reported in TV Fanatic.

Peterson said that fans will see Booth with a new job; he may still be affiliated with the FBI but as an instructor and far from danger.

It was also revealed that Brennan will give birth to a baby boy and will be focused on her new role as a mother.

She was also presented with different opportunities and options, but she mostly wants to spend time with the baby.

That doesn't mean though that she will be doing entirely nothing, except look after the baby. Peterson stated that she's worked with "one novel and an academic text" in the meantime.

There will also be changes in relationships. For one, fans should expect those changes to take place in the Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Hodgins' (T.J. Thyne) tandem in episode 10.

The second half of the season will also see a shift in Booth and Brennan's relationship; as revealed by the showrunner, there will be major developments.

Another important thing to watch out for in season 11 is the fact that there's a crossover between "Bones" and "Sleepy Hollow."

According to Peterson, there will be two corpses discovered — one that's recent and the other, rather old, likely to be Ichabod Crane's (Tom Mison) greatest enemy.

Season 11 of "Bones" will surely bring more exciting and interesting episodes when it premieres tonight on FOX at 8 p.m. EST. Be sure to catch it online via live stream on FOX.com
