"Boruto: Naruto the Movie," which officially ends the "Naruto" franchise while also introducing the lead's son and a new generation of characters, will finally see a theatrical release across the U.S. According to an announcement on Fathom Events, the film will be screened in select theaters this Dec. 13 and 14.

Over 200 theaters will screen the animated film. According to the post, screening will begin on Sunday, Dec. 13 by 12:55 p.m. local time and then on Monday, Dec. 14 by 7 p.m. local time. Before each screening, there will be an introduction taken from the New York Comic Con.

This introduction will include opening remarks from the film's executive producer and "Naruto" creator Masashi Kishimoto and a short introduction from voice actor Junko Takeuchi, who voices the titular character Naruto.

"We are pleased to partner with Eleven Arts and VIZ Media, to give cinema audiences exclusive insights into the latest 'Naruto' title including exclusive interviews with the creator and Japanese voice of Naruto," said John Rubey, CEO of Fathom Events. "Now, anime fans nationwide have the opportunity to enjoy this exciting and highly anticipated event with other shinobi and kunoichi nationwide."

Availing of tickets began on Dec. 4 and can still be purchased online while seats are still available. The version that will be screened in theaters will feature the original Japanese dubbing with English subtitles displayed on the screen.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" occurs several years following the anime's official ending where Naruto is now recognized as the Seventh Hokage. His son Boruto joins the Chunin Exams in order to qualify as a ninja in which he is joined by Sasuke's daughter Sarada and the mysterious newcomer Mitsuki. 

Trouble brews almost immediately when Sasuke returns from a different dimension to warn Naruto of impending doom. Two assassins arrive and while shielding Boruto from their attacks, Naruto suddenly disappears, leaving the three young ninja students to investigate what truly happened.
